Yes I got the notice, now that I have all the issues that were ever printed. But I prefer them in print, I just can't imagine curling up with a good CD to read before bed, but to find info in a flash, it might be more helpful. I am very glad they have done this as every issue of Threads is a true learning experience, and to find ALL the copies is increasingly difficult. I took me close to a year, just to find them and afford them. Of course, the first 60 came easy as I got them at a yard sale for 10 cents a piece! Lucky me!!!

I really hear you, about "curling up with a good CD" - giggle - pretty hard to curl up at the computer desk!

I have "a couple of boxes" of old Threads, in no particular order, and can't imagine making room to keep a complete collection on hand, so I'm really glad that we'll be able to do an 'instant-gratification search-and-print' mission. Sometimes out-sourcing customer service to the customer IS a good thing! (Not very often, though!)

I'm off to the book store - enjoying brisk autumn in Chicago today!

      Happy new corduroy skirt, too!

      Bright Blessings ~ Kharmin

I too would like to have access to all the issues on DVD, (I think I have most issues since issue 64) In  the past I have bought some of the THREADS books second hand from amazon to read a particular article. I often use indexes to search for articles and like to  take an old Threads with me to look at  when taking kids to the park .

But I do know what you mean about the excitment of a paper magazine. This week I bought an almost complete collection of BELLE AMOIRE MAGAZINE from e.bay. Can't wait to look at them. The first one I picked up, completely at random, mentions both Marcy Tilton and Kayla Kennington on the cover. (My husband would not share this excitment so I have yet  to explain the very large and very heavy  parcel.)

      Best wishes

      Louise

My hubby thankfully understands my passion and so is very good at ignoring large parcels that arrive when we have the money. He is also aware of what it means to me to have something to look at when I'm really flared up with arthritis so he never gives me a problem on indulging in that passion.

it would be great if they had all this on their website for free....the cd is just a bit too expensive...

Have you ever bought back issues?  This works out much cheaper! Sounds like a fantastic resource, which I am happy to pay for. I also hope all the contributors get additional payments for their work.

In some ways, it does seem expensive to spend that on a CD, but if you have ever scanned magazine articles and illustrations even for your own use, you know that this simply takes a lot of time, and time translates into wages. How much would I charge if someone asked me to do this? Probably a lot. And then there's setting up the index--which I hope works better than the Threads online index (aaaack!). If an index is well-organized and cross-referenced, that too equals time spent by some employee performing a job that I would regard as a huge pain in the bazongas.
