Sewing Pouffed Arms
Hello ladies and gents,
I am fairly new to this network but I need some help from fellow designers. I am in the mix of placing high pouffed arms on a blazer but I am a little bit stuck. I have been unable to figure it out and I do not want to tarnish a very beautiful jacket. If I am not able to figure it out, it will become a vest, something I truly do not want!! Please anyone with a serious response and a willingness to help a fellow designer. I would really appreciate it!!

Are you wanting help with the design - pattern cutting? Or sewing?

It might help you if you had a collection of patterns that have a variety of sleeves so you can see what different sleeve patterns look like and how they are different from each other. The patterns would also tell you how to gather them and sew them in. Thrift stores usualy have old patterns for 10 cents. I used to do a lot of bridal wear and found that sleeves and necklines are pretty interchangeable.

I agree with stillsuesew sewing patterns are such a fantastic resource.
I have qualifications in pattern cutting and over 20 years making and designing bridalwear and still learn from patterns, especially the vogue designer ones. It's amazing to be to buy exact pattern and instructuons for a designer dress! I own 100's of them and often refer to them.
Once you understand a bit about dressmaking and designing you can mix and match pattern bits and then the fun really starts..................
