   Folding crinkle textured fabric sounds like the hem might turn out puffy when using your usual method, which is the same I way I normally do a narrow hem.

   I would do some tests using a fabric scrap.  I would try the usual method, but top stitch with a double needle.    

   A rolled hem on the serger may turn out ruffly (lettuce finish).  Maybe light-weight water soluble stabilizer folded over the edge would eliminate the lettuce look.   I use H2O gone.  If interested, I bought several yards at Wal*Mart for a good price.

   Do you have a rolled hem foot?  I have one for my Bernina and I love it.  Very fast and great results.  Cynthia

   Have you tried Seams Great?  You could stitch it to the hem, turn and stitch, snip off the excess Seams Great as it is sheer knit bias, then the final hem.  It comes in white, flesh, and black and helps with pokies too.  I use it for necklines instead of a facing and for hems on lightweights and sheers.  It is one of my favorite products.

   On expensive RTW hems, I've been seeing a lot of overcast hem finishes. Instead of folding and topstitching, they're serging (or satin-stitch zigagging) the edge of crinkly and knit fabrics, even on very formal skirts and dresses.

   On another current thread, someone describes zigzagging over fishing line to create a weighted, very narrow hem. Either might work well for a sheer crinkle.
