Susan -homedecsewing | Posted in Talk With Us on

try scaping the wax off with your fingernail or a butterknife then press using paper towel to absorb any wax left behind . anybody know another way?

Dry Cleaning will remove wax. I'd hate paying too but this is how we removed wax remnants from batik and other processes.
    Good luck,

    Dear Susan
this works fine with candle wax - even on black (felt) hat:
put a newspaper on top of the part that has wax on it and iron very lightly, keep moving the paper as it absorbs the wax.
    good luck

Lighter fluid (not butane) usually works. Put the fabric on some paper towels and dab the area with lighter fluid soaked cotton balls. You may have to repeat a few times, moving the fabric to clean areas of the paper towels. As with everything, test the lighter fluid on a piece of scrap fabric first.

I have very good luck removing even dryer set oil stains with Goo Gone. Just squirt with it and rub a little and launder as usual. It even has a pleasant orange scent.  Good luck.
