Bernina Advertisement

victoria0001 | Posted in Talk With Us on

What happened to Bernina ad?   We were all enjoying the ‘STILL’ ad’ but the busy moving ad seems to be visually unacceptable once again and impinges on reading.  Please let us know what happened to the newer ‘still’ ad?  It seems to be a puzzle and it would be kind of Threads Magazine to advise the Gathering Discussions group just what goes with the Bernina ad now.

Will…. and should this be a consideration to those of us who use this discussion group?  It could and probably will influence the participants and it is a disappointment that the once again busy ad was remedied by our Editor, Amber Eden, and now it is on the move once again. An explanation from Threads would be much appreciated.

Oh dear, yes. Well, if this is not going to be remedied, we might have to communicate with each other privately and via blogs. After all, Threads is not obliged to provide the Gatherings Forum, nor are we obliged to use it.

Amber left, and the ad's moving again--coincidence? I think NOT! I'm afraid we get to fight this battle all over again!

    1. Cherrypops | | #3

Yes, Amber did her very best in stopping the flashing ad.

Amber also pointed out that it is NOT an editorial issue, she went above and beyond her call of duty to help the forum members.

      This is a web advertisement.

The appropriate department has been notified the Advert is 'flashing' again and may cause upset again.

As another member noted, you can continue your discussions via your private emails, if you wish to do so.

When we went through this last time, Jiggs had a response from Bernina. message # 8477.71 I don't know how to link back to it. There is an email address for an ad exec. Perhaps if we all emailed our complaint directly to Bernina, they will listen. Just ask them to stop the ad from moving. CathyHere is the info: I just copy and pasted itLeslie A. Bowman

I just e-mailed Leslie--now we'll have to wait and see what happens.

I've already had a reply from Leslie Bowman, who has apologized profusely and has assured me she is working on this problem. She said the ad agency did this, and it may take some time, but she hopes to have it resolved soon.I'm sure all who wrote to her will get a reply. I don't mean to imply I was singled out as the "anointed one"..... LOL

That's very encouraging. Question - is it the ad agency's business to go ahead and alter things at will?

            Thansk for your post

Well, I guess you can ignore the last part of the post I sent you in the other discussion we are having. :) Glad to hear they actually get on this that fast. Cathy

I got a reply....and apology as well.  I wrote back and thanked her for her prompt attention.  I'm sure it will be remedied as soon as humanly possible.

This ad drives me bonkers, and it was the first thing I saw this morning when I logged in. ThreadKoe's posting of the email address is getting some action from Bernina, I think. Here, in part, is the reply I got from Leslie Bowman:

I am very sorry that this issue has come up again. Last time the ad was changed just after is was brought to my attention, but since I was not made aware of the fact that this type of advertising would be used again on the Gatherings site, I did not know this was happening again until I received yours (and others) emails.

A few weeks ago when this issue came up the first time, I thought that it had been settled, and I was wrong. I am working at this minute to get to the bottom of the issue and try to get this ad replaced as we speak. I cannot say how long this will be an issue, and I had hoped last time we would not have an issue like this again. I can only say that we here at BERNINA do care more about the feelings of our customers and all sewers out there then we do about Business for business sake.

I believe her, and I really believe the deluge of emails is helping.

          2. katina | | #15

It's very encouraging that it's receiving attention. I fear this has not exactly been positive for Bernina.

Wow! Am I to believe my lying eyes or was that a FAST fix?
I am impressed -- and favorably, I might add. Yeah!!!!!!

I sent my complaint directly to Bernina because they created this irritating pest that invaded a pleasant site. I'm glad it's been stopped, but hope this isn't going to be a recurring event.

            Thursday 24 July 9:00am

First login for the day and The advert has stopped flashing.

Late yesterday, I contacted Threads Admin Assistant to inform them of the flash. My message was then forwarded on to the appropriate dept.

            Thank you Admin for listening.

Thank you ladies for contacting Bernina Direct.

Now we can return to discussing tips, tricks and techniques.

            Hello CP

Yes, they did respond very fast and we're grateful. As you say, we're here for the 3Ts, and we really get a lot from our members.

I think with the rapidity of which Bernina received the flurry of direct complaints, their ad agency will be informed that the ad is not working. They now have emails directed to them, not just general complaints on a website. A direct email must be dealt with. This time it only took one day to stop it from flashing. Progress. Cathy

Thank you ALL!!  Thanks to Bernina again and Threads for dealing with the 'flashing ad'.  It is wonderful that all of you responded as you did and wrote to Bernina and Threads with our concerns as did I.  I am grateful that it is once again resolved.

I just can't thank you enough because I love the Gatherings Discussions so very much!!!  It would be a huge loss if the group dissolved.

I also have just received a personalized message from Leslie Bowman. I was impressed by the fact that it was not a bulk form letter. Hope the Ad Agency gets the point this time. Cathy

That was basically the content of my reply to her email to me -- that the ad agency needs to "GET THE MESSAGE".

Mind you, at least this way, Leslie has ammunition, directly from the targeted consumer, to give to the agency, on what NOT TO DO! Self Advocacy does work... sometimes. Cathy

          12. damascusannie | | #20

I have a feeling she was FLOODED with protests. If you e-mailed her to complain, be sure to e-mail her to thank her as well! I already sent mine to her.

Yes, please do. I did my thanks. Cathy

I wrote a thank you as well........as should we all!  A fantastic job was done to get it fixed so quickly!
