upholstering a footstool

TSittler's picture

Here goes in the new forum. I have an existing footstool which I want to reupholster to match my newly reupholstered chair. The feet are not detachable, nor is there a skirt. My dilemma is how to I go around the frame at the legs in fabric without covering them? If I fold fabric under where leg meets frame, snip at the edge then staple remainder to the underside, how do I keep the padding from showing? If I fold fabric under at each side of the snip to cover the padding, either the wood frame or part of the leg (or both) will show. I hope my problem is clear to anyone who can help. I know I can cover the legs with fabric and end my worries, but I'd like to keep the wood showing. Any takers? Thanks!
