Mounting drapery with crown moulding

andryea | Posted in Quilting and Home Decor on

Help!!

I am thinking about dressing a rather small wide window with a woven shade and drapery. I would like to mount them up at the ceiling but there is crown moulding up there. Should I mount the shade and rod on the ceiling in front of the moulding or on the wall under the moulding????

Thanks one and all for your help in advance!

I'd think under the moulding.  I've seen treatments mounted on hooks right under the crwon moulding and it looked good.

               ANDRYEA ,

I install window coverings professionally and would agree to install the treatment under the molding . This will cut down on the size of the returns or the distance the face is from the wall .
