interesting delema, please help

Susan -homedecsewing | Posted in Quilting and Home Decor on

Good Morning to All, I am working threw a problem in my head before starting a king comforter. My client wants the spread to tuck under 2 pillows, and fold over them. The problem that I invision is it being too short on the sides, and sticking out as it will have cord all around. Its on a fancy bed with wood side rails where it should just fall to the edge of. I was thinking that maybe I should cut it in a T shape ,maybe wider just threw the pillow area ? Has anyone got any ideas ?I wait to hear any suggestions, thanks in advance. Susan

I have a bed like that, also King size.  I agree that the sides would be too short if it only comes to the top of the boards.   Either the quilt could be for "looks" only which poses the problem where to put it when you sleep....not fun in my humble opinion.  I would like a quilt that tucks under the pillows all the way to the headboard, then a seperate "quilt" that lays across the pillows.  But then I am a tactile person and also would not want the cording.  During the day, I tuck the quilt into the side boards so it looks neat.

Interesting delimma.  Hope you let us know what the final outcome is.

Well I told my problem to my client , and he agreed with me , problem solved, pillows stay on top . The decorative pillow shams will hide the pillows. I'm such a people pleaser, thought that one thru way too long.Just trying to go the extra mile. Anyway he appreciated my foresight .

It shows your knowledge and professionalism that you were able to help him visualise the problem.  Glad he agrees with you so now both of you can feel good about it.  Now it can be beautiful and functional.
