EASY Chair Pads

sewnew | Posted in Quilting and Home Decor on

Does anyone know how to make EASY chair pads?  I’ve got some fabric already and foam.  I’ve got the old pads, but they look too complicated.  I’d really just like a cute simple pad – nothing real fancy.  Can anyone help me?

Can you describe the shape of your chair pad? How thick?

The easiest pillow covers to make are the envelope style ones.  Essentially you take a piece of fabric long enough to go around your foam with 6 - 8 inches of overlap and cut the width of the foam with seam allowances.  Hem one of the ends and then fold the fabric right sides together so that the overlap will end up in the middle of the bottom of the pillow cover.  Sew the side seams and then flip it right sides out and then slip the pillow form inside.  I do all of my pillow covers this way so I can take them off easily and wash them.
