Turkey Placemats

blondie2sew | Posted in Photo Gallery on

Hi everyone,

I know there has been a lot of discussion on great gift ideas and all,

I just finished up some Turkey Placemats I am giving to the hostess whom will be hosting our Thanksgiving Feast this year.

We will be spending it with some friends and I thought this would be a great surprise to her when we arrive.

Our Family is taking a vacation and staying with them a couple of weeks a much needed family vacation to say the least anyway attached are two photos…I made six Placemats and all are different but are very complimentary to each other.

So I am going to tell her if she wants more for a bigger table setting she can make them herself as she is a sewer too! Plus I told her about the pattern last year and she hasn’t jumped on it.
This was a free pattern on the website for the white sewing machines

Thanks for letting me share my Turkey’s with you all

Connie

Beautiful! They are darling. What a wonderful way to use a free pattern. She will adore them and the thought and effort. Thanks for the pictures. I love to look at the picture of projects people are talking about. Your fabric choices were lovely and I really liked that they matched but were not the same.

Good job! Have a lovely holiday.

Thanks for the compliments,I think the hardest part is picking out the right combinations.I know I was excited to find this. I did a set last year for myself, I did them all matching. Of course when you try something new like this the next set always seams to turn out even better. Usually they evolve over time as I make more and more!!I will have to post some of my Christmas Stockings for you all!!I am known for those and I am pretty proud of them. I just wish I had taken pictures of all!! I don't think any of the many I have made over the years are the same!! I don't have an embroidery machine so all of mine are embellished with my decorative stitches and my creativity!!I have always just given them as gifts until last year when I made 8 of them because 2 people approached me. That was coolSo be looking for these soon! I am really proud of my stockings I should say they are my babies!!Thanks again for your reply and Post some of your own work I love to see too!! I am hoping a lot more of us start posting our projects we always chat about them but I am yet to see more recent posts in the gallery.Connie

Definately a good gift and time well spent. I look forward to seeing your stockings. I'll have to post a picture or two. Unfortunately, it just occured to me recently to take pictures of my projects. I have made numerous baby quilts for friends and family and give them away without taking a picture. But I recently finished one for a neice, I will post the picture soon. It's all embroidered (machine).

good talking to  you. I am ready to start something now. It's been inspiring.

Wonderful I am going to be looking for your projects!!I so agree I wish I had been taking pictures all along.I do have some blankets that I have done myself.....I don't consider them quilting. I just say I make blankets cuz you guys that quilt just put me to shame! But all the ladies at my Sew Fun group when I bring them for show and tell let me know that is quilting. I have to laugh. Not compared to what they doI have like 2 blocks I work with and that isn't piecing those blocks together that is just cutting a block and sewing them together by my serger I might add. I will have to post my blanket too for you!! Anyway I can't wait to see your blanket!! Connie

I am so glad for you. They were so cute, she had to love them.

Glad you had a good holiday.

I have sewed this weekend till my fingers are sore (machine embroidery) making wallhangings as gifts. It's a big task for the time I'm trying to do it in, but I'm inspired to get some nice gifts to people that are made.
