   Thank you Mary :) Yes, the wings is my favorite part too. It just so glittery everytime the lights hit it. :)

   What materials did you use?  Sparkle organza?  If you haven't heard of it you might be interested in Esterita Austin's Misty Fuse and Angelina Fibers which are so cool.  I think you might be interested in the "podcasts" at http://www.bonniemccaffery.com  you have to be patient as it takes awhile to get them going.  I like to download them to my mediaplayer so I can look at them larger and offline.  That way, I can look at her site while the podcast is downloading instead of sitting there waiting to see it. 

   I have one of her books and hope to get the kit for the painted faces quilts.  I also have one of her embroidery kits for digiBobbie which is lots of fun and has excellent results. 

   Her instructions are very clear and easy to understand.  I get her newsletter too, which is very uplifting.  She is so inspirational!

   Material for the tutu or the wings? For the tutu I just used some tulle, and for the ings, I bought it already made, but it was kinda plain, so I decorate it with some flowers, sparkly sequins, and some tulle.

   I never heard of angelina fibers before, but I just did a google for it. It is a very intersting material. So is it kinda like a yarn, or kinda like wool fibers? I wonder what else can you do with it?

   I am also very interested in the tinsel fiber. Where can you buy it cheap? Does it also come like a yarn? Or just individual fiber?

   Hi Mary,

   I went to the bonniemccaffery website.  I liked the digibobE or whatever it is.  So this is the YLI Candlelight yarn everyone is talking about.  How in the world did they get the design on the jeans pant leg?  Very interesting.  You will have to turn us on to some more of those kind of websites.

   Cool stuff, huh?  Her prices are very reasonable and the customer service and shipping are super.  I think they just took the seam out of the pants, did the embroidery, put the seam back in.  The coverstitch on the serger or doubleneedle on the sewing machine would do the trick, yes? 

   I am doing a jeanjacket with the Ornamental Swirls kit and Perle Crown Rayon as I am not into glitzy sparkles for my own clothes.   My grand daughter loves the glitz.  I just keep procrastinating and need to get busy and be productive.  Mary

   To Embroider on jeans, you need to take out both inner seams if you want the embroidery up the leg on the out leg side of your jeans. It really isn't as hard as you would think, it just takes time to rip out the seams. Then picking a design that fits and looks good and colors that go together. Then deciding if you want to go up the entire leg or just do around the bottom.  The best thing I learned is to be flexible and pick a design for the bottom and then decide as you go up the seam what you want to see there.  It is much less stressful than doing a big design and then realizing it won't fit or go over the double fell seam. Keep it simple you can always add more. If I can get a picture of the ones I did, I will post it in the Photo Gallery.  I did a very simple design for my first pair.

    My trick for taking out a seam in jeans. If you are taking out a double fell seam you can take your seam ripper - a good sharp one. Looking at your jeans;  look for the place in the seam where it is stitched and both pieces of the seam are a fold. I mean by that, there isn't a place where the edge of the fabric is exposed. If you can break a couple of stitches there and fit your seam ripper in there. Using the correct angle -  you might have to try a few - tilting the ripper up a little and down a little at a point you will feel the stitches start to cut. Then go slowly at first and the seam should just tear away from the two folded pieces easily.  Just remember, it only works when both of the seams show a fold so when you are cutting the seam there isn't loose fabric for it to catch on.

   Ning, I really want to get the Photo Gallery portion of this site working easily so we can all see the fabulous work you and other are doing. It is such a motivator for prople who need a little push now and again to see the wonderful work of our fellow sewers.  Your work is beautiful just beautiful. If you don't mind my asking, what price did you get for the angel wings and tutu.  I only ask because so many of us would like to do a little work to earn some extra money and never have any idea how much to charge for items.

   Now, onto how to get a picture out there.  I tried to just do a copy to put the pics out there but they are protected by a program called Auctiva. This appears to be a program E-Bay put in place so people could not steal other peoples ideas. So, the pictures need to be put in the Threads Photo Gallery prior to putting them on E-Bay

   Woohoo, I finally figure out how to do attachment in this thread. Well here it is, all she wore from head to toe was made by me, well I guess not to toe, she just likes wearing mommy's shoes and play dress up :)

   Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately nobody bid on my tutu. I put $0.99 for the opening price, and only had $19.99 as a reserve price. I wasn't looking to make profit, I just wanted to replace the cost of the material. But the good thing is, the other day, after trying for over 2 weeks, I finally can make my daughter trying it on. I had to bribe her first though, lol.

   I think if you think your creations is good enough, I think you might want to see if you can sell it. I've been sewing since I was a kid, but not very serious. Since 5 years ago, I've been learning to sew garments. But what I enjoy most is sewing my kids' clothings. Children's garments is pretty easy most of the time. They don't have curves :)

   Early next year, I'm going to try to apply for a business license and start selling the children's clothes. :) I'd like to see what you've done too, if you can post the pics.

   I know :( That time she just refused to wear it. I don't know why. Now that it is so close to halloween, she's finally willing to wear it. Oh well, maybe halloween next year she'll want to be a fairy. :)
