   Oh, those are great outfits. Where did you find the knit-mesh type fabric - isn't that what you used for the boys' shorts? Was it difficult to sew?

   Thanks!  Yes, that is athletic style mesh knit.  I didn't find it terribly hard.  It is slippery but other than that, it wasn't bad.  I did the shorts double.  Made two pair and put them together with the inside pair wrong sides together with the outside pair (boy!  that's clear as mud!) so there are no exposed seams on the inside.  Then hemmed them and put the elastic on as one..........does that make sense?  With the holes in the fabric, it needs to be either doubled on lined for the shorts lest we get accused of indecent exposure! ha ha  The grandson is just 5 but still......figured it was best.

   Yup, Rodezzy, birthdays and Christmas are a full-scale production around here!  We have to keep a running list of birthdays and go to the card shop and buy cards for a month or two a a time.  Between the kids and the grands, it's nearly a part-time job!! ha ha  I only have a few grands that are young enough to really sew for.  The rest will wear the flannel pants...........you know the pjs that they wear everywhere????  I don't like that trend but it will change.  I'm a very casual dresser but I draw the line at pjs in public!!!!!!!!

   Thanks for the kind words on the kids clothes.  I had fun with those.

   Yea, it sounds like a holabaloo of fun though.....and yea, what is with this pj stuff?  That totally blows my mind that anyone would want to walk around in pj's.

   I think it is kinda like the sweatpants people slobbed around in for awhile in. Comfort, not fashion. Personally, won't find me in them, except in the house....Cathy

   Wow, you are a real expert.  You do such beautiful work.  I haven't seen rtw that neatly sewn with those fabrics in the green and blue sets.  How wonderful for your DD to have you to sew for the babies.  Great job.  I love the caterpiller, so cute and funny.  Awesome.

   Wow - 20 grands!!!  The card-buying would keep you hopping - not to mention the gift-buying, especially at Christmas!  How blessed you are.

   You always do such precise work, the clothes are darling and will look so cute on them!  Did you use ribbing or did you make your own out of knit fabric?  Your necklines and armholes are perfection!  Mary

   Hi Mary,  Thanks for the kind words!  I did use ribbing on the boys shirts.  Taylor's shirt I skipped the ribbing and used pants fabric and made a facing.  I was worried (not having her head here to measure!) that the neck might not be large enough but it was perfect!  Probably never be quite that lucky again!! 

   I made two more outfits for our Messy Little Miss Taylor over the weekend.  She's great at getting into messes and mom said she has a hard time keeping her in clean clothes!  She said it would be great to have a couple more sets.  And........guess who just happens to have some extra fabric laying around??!! Ha ha  These two sets I just did plain shorts and did a little embroidery on the shirt front but no ruffles or anything else too fancy.  Needed to just do them and get them done.  I'm dreaming about her fall wardrobe though!! ha

   Good to hear from you.  Hope you're having a good summer.
