Here is a jacket that I made in 3 different colors. I made it first without the peplum then added the peplum for a different customer with a longer torso. The four without the peplum have burn velvet collars and the one with the peplum has black fleece collar. That is the only difference other than the peplum added. All jackets have black velvet lined pockets.

Nice jackets! I do like the style--what pattern did you use? Are the pockets in the princess seam, or on the side?
I didn't use a pattern for this jacket, I made a pattern from an existing jacket and remade it with a curved collar. The original one had a pointed edged dollar. The pockets are in the princess seams, the princess seams have a contrast cording.
Wow, I'm impressed that you made your own pattern from another jacket. My ASG neighborhood group will be discussing this at our next meeting, and we're supposed to copy a garment as our project to show at a later meeting. I think I'll try to copy my favorite vest--it will be interesting to see how it turns out! Thanks for sharing photos of your jackets.
Thanks to all, I enjoy showing projects and getting feedback, When I hand the finished garments to the customers, I don't always get the "sewers" feedback that we all need from time to time. I am looking into the ASG in my area, It sounds interesting.

I belong to ASG, and I've learned a lot since I joined a couple of years ago. I attend a Couture Neighborhood Group, and we recently learned how to construct a Chanel jacket. In our next couple of meetings we will learn draping and how to copy a ready-to-wear garment. We have Show-and-Tell at every meeting, and I'm always inspired by the projects that are shown. And if you need advice on a project, there's always someone who can offer suggestions and help you out. My chapter also brings in nationally known speakers (Sandra Betzina, Emma Seabrooke, Peggy Sagers, etc.), and has other workshops throughout the year. And don't forget the discounts that ASG members can take advantage of! I hope you find an ASG meeting that is convenient for you. :-)
