   Very nice, Rodezzy. Looks great with the scarf. Is it an ultrasuede?

   No, its all fleece.  The animal print is left over from my grand daughters robe collar and cuff fleece.  Went great with the chocolate fleece.

   Very nice poncho!  The leopard print goes perfectly with it - you were lucky to have enough left over from the robe.  I still can't get over the fact that you made it before you went dancing :)  (as if it only took 20 minutes)!

   Well, being a city gal, I didn't leave the house until 10:45 p.m.  It's a regular neighborhood pub with lots of people I've known a long time.  It's only five minutes from my house and I'm in by 1:45 a.m. usually.  Love the city. 

   The poncho only took about two hours of my leisure time.  Cut three pieces - front, back, collar.  Sew it up and hand finish the collar inside of the neck edge.  Love it!

   You're lucky you live in a safe neighbourhood in such a large city, so you're not worrying about walking in the dark or do you walk in a group (safety in numbers)?  Everyone needs a break now & then, eh?  Sewing & crocheting/knitting are such solitary crafts, especially sewing, that's it nice to meet with people & talk of other things.

   The ponch was super-fast - you did a great job!

   I don't walk there, it's five minutes away in the car.  Safety is always an issue in big city life, and I take precautions everywhere I go and everyday.  But I refuse to be afraid of life and living.  People die every day in "safe environments" and in their own homes.  Life is short and I'm going to ride this life thang til the wheels fall off. 

   No matter what I do or don't do, my time will come, so I'm not going to sit around waiting, I'm going to do what I do and go where I go, I'm might even come to Australia.  Now, should I be afraid to fly?

   You're right - safe environments don't guarantee your safety - you do have to be watchful, & I think we're all more aware & careful now than we were years ago.  Yes, this city living is stressful, but bad things happen in smaller places, too.  Sometimes it's just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

   You're right in enjoying each day as it comes, too - each day is a bonus & it's what we make it.  :)

   As far as the trip goes, flying is safer than driving, so go for it!  (I'm a nervous flyer, so such a long trip over ocean would probably make me a wreck).  It all depends on how much you want to be somewhere & how fast, eh?

   All across the country are beautiful places!  I haven't been east of Alberta, though, but I know the east coast provinces are beautiful, too - check out the Internet.  Our favourite place is Jasper in the Rockies (3 1/2 hrs. west of us).  The Rockies are gorgeous!  So is the west coast.  Whatever scenery turns your crank!  :)

   I teach a VERY CONSERVATIVE adult women's Sunday School class.  We are usually in agreement and seldom have arguments------Until the day I said that I thought FEAR was a tool of the evil one!

   Seems they mostly are not only conservative but extremely cautious and view caution as a virtue!  Whew!  Gail

   What would our lives be if we didn't push past the fear once in awhile?  Life would be pretty darned dull & unproductive! Everyone is afraid of something, but that shouldn't stop us - we all have a fear of failure when we start something new, even though we KNOW we can do it if we work at it - so we go ahead & prove ourselves right.  That's life!  How interesting that your ladies think caution is a virtue.  On the other hand, caution doesn't mean that they won't try something new, though - they will just be more careful, maybe.  I think fear is a natural instinct when confronted with a new challenge or idea or something that we don't understand fully.  But we must remain open-minded - it may be of great benefit to us to overcome our fear & get on with things.  Where would be as sewists if we limited ourselves to making one item only (only if we were sure that we would complete it the way we want) & not trying something else?  :)  We have to have some fun in life, too.
