Easter Skort !!

blondie2sew | Posted in Photo Gallery on

Ok everyone,

I have posted a thread on this issue of the skort!! I have mentioned oodles of times about making this for Abigaels Easter Outfit!! So here it is!! Finished.. finally got her home long enough yesterday!!

The construction went quick as it is a simple pattern…However of course the fitting process!!

I should’ve still went with my gut feeling and not what the pattern read on the back..I went and got the bigger sized pattern…well I didn’t take my time to measure the pattern pieces and so I had to do a lot I mean a lot of taking it in on the side seams..not to mention the waste I think is a bit more gathered then suppose to be because I had to keep taking in the elastic…I just wish I had my week like I planned..when ever I dive into something new I like to take my time the first time even if it is a simple pattern…

Used knit fabric
Pattern is Butterick 4439
Another design feature that Abigail wanted to keep is the hem…I didn’t hem it traditionally…she wanted to keep my serger hem look!! Which is all the rage!! So that was cool!! Saved me a step!

All in all I think it looks good for my first..they only get better!!

The fabric was just find I got at Hancock Fabric!! like it was I think on the $2.00 a yard rack!! Too funny...I wish I had got more...Oh and I forgot because I know you know about limited Too...that is where the cami came from!!She is loving it and I am sure I will be making more!! She made a comment to the fact that it looks store bought, not homemade..which is music to my ears and I am totally pleased with that!!Smiles all around!!!Blondie

Blondie, wonderful job! If you are able to make something for your daughter's age group that pleases you have accomplished a great feat in the sewing world! LOL! She is just prescious and the skirt looks great. I like the funky serged hem too!
