   The Milan dress is lovely. Has a sundress look but the straps are wide enough to cover bra straps. It is great in linen for summer and would make a nice dressy dress in silk.

   *I've made the Provence dress and the amount of gathering at the hip is really small. Also, it doesn't actually fall at the hip, but below, about at the junction of hip and thigh. It's a great dress, comfortable and easy to wear while still looking really good. I'm short and it actually succeeds in making me look taller and somewhat slimmer! The only thing I didn't care for was the tightness of the sleeve on the long-sleeve version. But this probably wouldn't be a problem if you used a knit instead of a woven fabric.

   *I too have sewn the Milan dress and it's one of Loes Hinse best patterns. The straps are a bit wide set so if you have small or square shoulders you may wish to set the straps closer to the center (about 1/2" to 1").--lin

   *I have made the tank dress. First I made the sleeveless and it fit beautifully out of a rayon. Then I made the log sleeve version and found the same problem as someone above, the sleeve was too tight. I will be letting them know as I do not have large arms for my body. Probably to the opposite. Anyway the sleeveless version is great. I love their patterns. I use their jacket patterns alot. I only wish they made a jacket with collar and lapel.

   *Do you mean the basic dress? Interestingly, I made the long sleeve version of the basic top and the sleeves were also too tight, which was a first for me as I am always taking in the sleeves. It just occurred to me that the basic dress is an elongated version of the basic top! Noreen

   *The Textile Studio pants fit very well. They are slimmer through the hips than many pull-on pants and don't have a lot of bulk at the waist. They are fairly full at the bottom but that can be altered if you want a narrower cut.

   *I just got a new fabric mailing from Textile Studio.Here is their address:1552 Beach Street Unit QOakland, CA 94608They have two new patterns: The Barcelona Dress and the Capri Jacket. The latest Sew Beautiful has a piece on the Textile Studio Patterns. As to the dresses, I tried the Provence dress and it looked awful on me, but I think that had much to do with the fabric I chose, since I usually look good in dropped waist dresses. The skirt has very little gathering. The next time I make it, I plan to cut the skirt a size larger so there is a bit more gathering.

    *The latest group of swatches was lovely - rayons of varied weights, some silk blends, a silk tweed, linen blend, and a few knits. The colors are mostly neutrals - tans, beige, etc., and some greens. Prices range from 15 or so to 24 (some higher), with most fabrics around 18 per yard.

    *BASIC PANTS: best pants I've ever made without having to do alterations. Just wish there were a better finish on the waist band.MILAN DRESS: made up one in a very fine cotton and it was kind of "sacky". has anyone tried making it short? What fabrics have you had success with?Overall, TSP are my favorite patterns, love their philosophy: simple, easy, classic, modern but not trendy.
