simple jacket pattern

fionas | Posted in Patterns on

I have bought some beautiful deep purple wool/cashmere jacket weight material. My problem is that I have only got 135cm Lx140cmW. In looking at patterns they all require more fabric. Can anyone suggest a pattern that is simple that I could use to make a jacket. I thought short boxy type.

fionas, instead of trying to find a pattern to fit the fabric, find an additional fabric that will go with the purple and use two fabrics to make the jacket.  Just a suggestion to add to your ideas.

Your fabric sounds gorgeous.  Check out this McCall's pattern, which is sort of boxy, though slightly fitted, and it looks like the fabric requirements are close to what you have, depending on what size pattern you require:

I'm assuming you don't want short sleeves, but there are some cute short-sleeved jacket patterns on the McCall's site.
