Pattern advice for pear shape
My sister is plus sized and definitely a pear shape. Could anyone please suggest patterns for a step-mother- of-the groom dress?

For a pear shape, an A-line sleeveless dress with a nice bolero or jacket would be flattering, especially if the short jacket is made of an interesting print or embellished fabric and the dress is one of the more subtle colors from the print. Use a print or embellishment up near the collar to draw the attention to the face, and make sure to use pads to define the shoulders of the jacket and balance the proportions of the hips. The dress should be made of a nice, drapey fabric, but the jacket can be of a different, more structured fabric.
Sorry, I don't know of any specific patterns, but you may be able to piece together this look by combining different plus-size patterns. If she has a favorite dress that fits her well, you can use it to confirm the sizing of each piece of the pattern. Let us know what you find!
