I used a sticky back stabilizer on a satiny material and when I tried to remove it,there were small areas that were hard to remove. ( I hope I am explaining this
correctly) Can you give me suggestions on how to remove this. Steaming? Washing the item? Picking it off with tweezers???

My advice would be to try the tweezers. Tedious, but if you're careful you can get all of it off. Does anyone else have suggestions?

I'd go with tweezers too... the finer the better (i.e. needlenose style vs. the slant edge you might use for a splinter). I'd avoid washing since, if it's not one of the water soluble sticky stabilizers you could end up with a gummy wet paper mess.
Haven't tried any of the water soluble adhesive stabilizers yet but we just got a new batch in and I think that's what I'm going to test next as I don't like picking out the sticky stuff either and figure over time it probably isn't so good to use so much of the spray. Bree do you have extra material or was this a RTW garment? If you have some extras to play with and the material can be washed I would try a product called Goo Gone you get it at the hardware store in the paint section. I love this product but you will have to be careful it could remove some color from the satin. Using a paper towel or clean cloth that you put the Goo Gone on then gently rub the area that has the sticky back stabilizer on that you don't want to remain. It will look very oily and will have an orange scent but will remvove the sticky back stabilizer right off. If you don't have scraps I would put the garment in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to stiffen up the stabilizer and that should make it easier to pick off of the fabric with the tweezers. Good Luck.
