Problems with new CD

mem1 | Posted in Machine Embroidery on

Hello, I hope someone can help I received a CD I ordered from ABC embroidery designs and started using it tonight only to find than the design elements dont match up. For example I stitched out the leaves of a design and found that the rest of the design ie the stems and flowers were about half an inch above  the leaves . I am wondering what has caused this .I have got the right format and hoop etc the embroidery arm is moving freely . I am very frustrated!!!!!!

WillGeorge, your Edit comment is unnecessary and out of line and we can live without it.Frances

    Mem,

You should contact the vendor, but while you're doing that, check into how you stablized your fabric. Sometimes incorrect stabilizing causes the fabric to shift around, so that when you change thread colors and the machine starts up again, things are no longer properly aligned. A half-inch off sounds like a lot, though, so it's worth checking with ABC for some help.

Thanks Carol , I am working my way through the possibilities . I was hoping that there was something really obvious that I was doing wrong but it seems that slow and steady will have to be the approach. Thanks .

Mem have you tried to reload the design on the machine?  Sometimes when there is a power dip on the circuit while you are loading a card for your machine there can be alterations of the design.  Also remember that most of the designs that you get are digitized for woven material and you can get the kind of distortion that you are talking about when you sewn it out on a stretch material that is not properly stabilized.  If this is the case and you are stitching it out on a stretch material you should use a very good sticky stabilizer or use a spray adhesive on a cutaway stabilizer before hooping the material.  Try reloading the design and then embroider on woven material first and let me know if that helps.

thankyou for your thoughts I have actually taken the machine back to my dealer as when I stitched out some built in designs the same thing happened. I suspect that it is a problem with the embroidery arm of the machine.I am hoping it wont cost too much.

What kind of machine is it and how long have you had it?  Again just remember that the dealer may get it to work and you get it home and the same thing may happen again.
