New To Machine Embroidery

fallingup13 | Posted in Machine Embroidery on

I just got started on my new machine. It wasn’t as complicated as I thought it would be. I have 1 major problem.

I filled the bobbin, threaded the machine properly, and picked out a programmed pattern to try it out.

The pattern is a butterfly. The problem, the bobbin thread is showing on top instead of the color embroidery thread. I used a piece of sheeting material, and the stabilizer that came with the machine.

The butterfly came out very nice, the stitching is great. The red thread shows up on the wrong side, and only a small amount, that is almost all white too. A very tiny bit of red came out on the front when it first started.

I’ve tried re threading, removing and replacing the bobbin, but it still comes out with the bobbin thread on top.

I finally got too frustrated and left it. Can anyone give me an idea of what I’m doing wrong.

Pictured is the right side of fabric. You can see in the center where it started out red. The picture with more red is the backside.

I appreciate any help and input I can get.

      Does anyone post here

I answer a question now and then.

Over all there is too much spam and apparently, no admin attention to prevent it.

    New To Machine Embroidery

Machine embroidery is not a biggy at Threads.

You are using the wrong bobbin thread.  Refer to the manual for the correct weight.  And, it does have to be specifically, machine embroidery bobbin thread....not machine embroidery thread (top thread) or sewing machine thread.

You have done a wonderful job. I really like the design. In the beginning, we all make little mistakes, but after some time we get accuracy and perfection. Here is a small PDf regarding machine embroidery. I found it informative for beginners. Have a look....

Saw your post and just looking into going in the Embroidery business. Are you doing this for personal or business ?  Was wondering what machine you are using?

I never have done too much machine emboildery......but why did you choose red thread?  Even with the problem you had, a workable color choice such as a pastel color thread would have made a unique design.  Hope you got an answer somewhere, but keep going girl!  It's beautiful!
