Hi, I am new to embroidery and don’t know anything about the machines. So I really don’t know what kind of a machine I want. I currently own a Janome 6500P and love it for all my other sewing and quilting. Does anyone have any feedback on the Singer Futura Electronic Sewing & Embroidery machine? Is this a good choice for a beginner? I am looking at this one because it is offered at Sams Club for $683. I don’t want to spend a lot of money unless this is not a good choice. Thanks for any advice.

There are some reviews of the Singer Futuras at http://www.patternreview.com I wonder if the price at Sams Club is low enough to really make it worth not having the support that a dealer can give. Dealers let you test drive for starters and than usually are willing to help you with the machine after you buy it. Sometimes dealers offer lessons or classes. Be sure to test drive to your hearts content any machine you are considering. Your machine needs to feel right to you. Good luck with your search and happy embroidering.

You only have to sign up with a screen name to read the reviews at patternreview. There are other features that only paying members can get to but reviews are open. It's a fun site and there is plenty to do without being a paying member including message boards.
