Blank embroidery memory cards

Cre8ive | Posted in Machine Embroidery on

With the new machine I just purchased I received the PED-Basic. I already have the amazing box. Would anyone know if I am able to use both cards in either writer box? I would like two cards but would rather not have both systems hooked up to my computer. I don’t want to try it and risk damaging one of the cards. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
CLeo

You indicated that you just purchased your machine.  Does it have manual?  Usually you'll find the specs there.  When in doubt, contact customer service.

Thanks for your information but the machine manual has nothing to do with the card readers or their boxes and customer service is closed for the weekend. I was just hoping someone else has tried writing to a different card and had positive results. Thank you

Sorry couldn't help.  I purchased an Brother Embroidery machine last year, it came with PE-Design 7 and I have the Box which I purchased several years ago.  Never thought about compatibility.  Just figured you might find the information in the specs.

        Good luck.

I don't think they are interchanable.

You won't damage the cards, they just won't work.

    Try both reader units.

Keep the one you like the best and hold on to the other as a back-up or sell on Ebay.

      or Spicegirl,

Do you like the Amazing Box?  or if you got another embroidery converter box do you like it?  I see the Amazing Box is what Nancy's Notion's sells.

I have the mini magic box elite that I bought off Ebay, but I can't seem to do anything with it.

I can't get it to read an already written Bernina Studio Deco 500 card.  The only thing I can see to get it to do once was save a small design in the software.  I couldn't get it to write it the design to the card.

OESD makes the software and machine.  I don't know if I can get them to take it back or not.

Thanks for any assistance you can give me.

I really like my amazing box I've had it for 3 years now. I like the fact that I am not tied down to just brother machines. It writes to all sorts of different cards. So I would be able to use my old designs.

          Hi Cre8tive and all!

I have really had some bad luck.  My husband and I cannot get the Mini Magic Box Elite to work no matter what we try.  My husband is computer savvy and spoke with tech support.  I think my  Mini Magic Box Elite is not compatible with Dell.  They say it is not compatible with Dell, Windows 98 with a serial pot. Well, I have all of that except a USB port, but I can't seem to get it to work.  It is just not working for me.

I didn't realize that this would be such a difficult thing to purchase and get up and running.

So Cre8tive you do like your Amazing Box, can I ask what type of computer you have?  Did you get really good instructions on how to load the software and set up the Amazing Box?

I have figured out the friend that gave me or sold me her Bernina Deco 500 extra machine will not read cards!  It will embroider from the hard drive sich as names and etc.

My friend is going to die when I tell her this I don't know if it was broke when she bought it or somehow got damaged in shipping

Luckily, a few months ago I bought a Pfaff Creative Design 7570 on Ebay.  I was dying for the IDT.  I put the Pfaff card in and it read it just fine, so whatever new converter box I get I will have to make sure it works with the Pfaff Creative Design 7570.

Recently, I heard of a program called Embird on here.  Does anyone know anything about Embird?  I just want something that will work and not be a pain in the ****.

My husband works on his computer all day, so the last thing he wants to do is work on our computer in the evening.

Thank you for any assistance you may offer.

          Sincerely,

          Michelle

            Hi Michelle,

I have had the Amazing Box for at  least five years.  I have a Babylock Proline that has a 4x4" sewing area.  The Amazing Box has been able to write onto the re-writable card from Dakota, OESD,  as well as Amazing Designs.  There are 4 slots on the box, that will fit many different cards.

My problem for a long time was I tried to download free patterns to my computer and couldn't get them on the card.  I have just recently figured if I download to a CD it will probably work better.  If you decide to go with the Amazing Box, I can give you the benefit of what I have learned.

BTW I have a Dell computer with XP.

            Good Luck

Thank you so much I think that answers my question.  I will go with the Amazing Box since it will be compatible with the Creative Pfaff 7570.  I have all the memory loaded onto my Dell that it will take.  I bought 200.00 worth of memory last year.  There are no more slots in the hard drive to add memory.

Please reduce the font and bold print - it is difficult to read.  Thanks.

The format of the card and the format of the embroidery machine have to be the same.

You did not tell us what brand/model embroidery machine you want to use the Deco 500 card with.

What format will the embroidery machine accept?

If the card is already loaded, meaning it already has designs on it, it goes into the embroidery machine and not the reader box, but the formats have to be the same.

You cannot load designs to a design card (already loaded by a design company).

Did you get a memory card with the mini?  What is the format of the card?

A memory card can be loaded and reloaded over and over.  It is also referred to as rewritable card or a blank card.

The brand of PC has nothing to do with whether the OESD software will load - it is the amount of memory your PC has and the operating system within the PC.

You may need to add more memory to the PC you now have.

You may need to a download from OESD instead of the cd that came with the mini.

The manual for the mini will have the system requirements listed.

Embird is a software product for editing, cataloging and digitizing machine embroidery designs - you sill need a reader box and compatible card.
