tapering A line wedding gown skirt

olive3 | Posted in General Sewing Info on

I have an A line gown the girl wants it more like a straight skirt not so big at the bottom. Any suggestions on a quick way to do this? The skirt has five seams, 2 side front, 2 side back, and center back. Just pinned it and the two seams on the side front and back are to close together. It looks out of proportion. thanks.

I am doing a similar dress I guess it's the in thing now to have it more streamline. You will need to take in all seams. Each piece goes wider, the farther down they go. What you will need to do is start sewing from the hip line straight down. Unless you want it tapered more but that is not suggested unless you have a slit. Good luck
