snap that don't stay close but pop open

Gee's picture

In one of the threads magazine tips it talks about snaps that don't stay shut. They talk about putting something(a liquid) in and let it dry to repeat it many times. Does anyone know the exact instructions, I need it to repair a pair of leather pants

It was clear nail polish.

Sorry, I sent that before I realized you asked for instructions. Coat the male part (stick out part) of the snap with clear nail polish and let dry. Then test the snap. If it still doesn't stay closed repeat the coating/drying process until it does.

Thanks so much you really helped me. If I can help you in the future just ask.

When I've had snaps that didn't stay snapped, I've tapped the male end lightly with a tack hammer until the tip widens enough to grip.

When in doubt, choose the one called Aphrodite.
