spicegirl | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Today I received the first issue of this new magazine from Threads.  I believe it to be a very good resource and recommend it for new sewers as well as a refresher for oldies like me!

Hi Amber, I missed out on ordering Sew Stylish when it was offered, is it available on the newstands or in a bookstore? Can I still order the first copy?

            MarshaK.

You can still order it on Threadsmagazine.com or BeSewStylish.com or buy in Barnes & Noble or sewing stores

            Hello Amber,

Yes, isn't it wonderful. The word is out on gatherings. I initially posted the new website in 'feedback on threads'. Which naturally provided more positives. The website has probably gone into meltdown. I read the magazine is out in the stores over there, well done!. I haven't been out this week but I believe mine was shipped out two weeks ago. I am patiently awaiting its arrival. Have lots to keep me out of mischief until it arrives.

Many ladies here have written positive comments, I can see myself subscribing to this also.

Many thanks again to you and all the staff at Taunton.

            Kind regards,

            Anna-maree

Just thought I would pass on that I found it. We definitely need more sewing mag. for garments and such!! There are tons out there for Quilting just like TV. I wish to be a balance!!Hey Girl I think we can hook up and Co-Host a hip fun fresh Sew Stylish TV program what a great mix and the two A's Aussie and American! ha ha haConnie

Go Connie - Go Connie - Go Connie!!!! (i've got the hand movements goin too....lol)

Glad you got it...I'm still waiting....It was sent to Australia two weeks ago. So i expect it in about another 8weeks. (10 - 12 weeks is standard shipping time).

I have just renewed my subcription with Threads and will start one for Sew Stylish.

I get Australian Stitches every now and then. Mainly when they have two for one offer. It is the only Aust. 'sewing mag' for garments that I know of here. We do have a lot of Quilting, Beading, Scrapbooking and the Cross Stitch which is sent over from the UK.

I don't even see Threads backissues in the library. The newsagents still has one copy of Threads 128. Apart from the aussie members here it doesn't seem like it is in great demand. A real shame.

            Anna-maree

Hello Cherrypops,Threads mag is available at Newsagents in Australia, or at least in Victoria. I couldn't find it in fabric shops like Spotlight, but try your local newsagent. I'm going down tonight after work to see if they have the current issue yet. Rubydarling

            Hi Ruby,

My Spotlight nor Lincraft do not stock it. They Should! and I have suggested this to management. (They sell the quilting magazines which I have seen in large amounts at my local newsagents why not the sewing magazines as well???).

I subscribed online for 2yrs because my local newsagents get a very small order and don't seem to sell all of those (#128 is still on the shelves, all ratty and bent), besides, for me subscribing means I don't miss out, the magazine is in excellent reading condition upon arrival and a few dollars cheaper too.

            :) CherryP
