pattern adjustment

nslassie | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Hi! I am new to this forum and am seeking sewing advice regarding a boys pajama pant adjustment. I am looking to remove the center back seam and make an insert similar to boys boxer shorts and ready made pajama bottoms. I thought it would be easy to do but do not know how to redraw the pattern. I would prefer a ready made pattern with this feature. I have checked out the various patterns available and can only seem to find the center back version. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have no experience in constructing clothes for other half of the race, but I got curious. The older patterns do have the traditional style patterns; take a look at http://cgi.ebay.com.au/new-simplicity-14-16-boys-teens-pajamas-in-2-lengths_W0QQitemZ270157033511QQihZ017QQcategoryZ31407QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You don't write how tall the boys is.

I am guessing that you want an opening in the front. If you have sewn trousers the procedure of leaving extra fabric on the top third of the pyjamas would be the same; you would lap it at the top and put a button on the waistband
