Help – need sewing instr. for patches

rmalcolm01 | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Hello Everyone:

I am in dire need of some instructions for sewing an embroidered patch onto leather apparel.  Please let me know what stitch I should be using and possibly instructions for performing the stitch.

Thank you very much,

Renee

I would use a glue recommended for use on leather-just a dab in the middle of the patch to hold it in place.  When its dry, use a leather needle for your machine and a straight stitch of 3-4 in length (9-10 st. per inch on older models).  Holes in leather are permanent so you don't want them too close together.  i had a former Air Force pilot as a customer before he moved and used to put them on his flight jacket which was leather and this worked the best for me.
