Hallo everyone, I have an on-going problem with my clothes ie 1 leg shorter than the other. This is about 1 and half inches. I obviously have to alter all skirts and pants hence all the sewing as well. On custom bought garments, is the alteration the opposite to high hip and can someone tell me the official way to get it to look correct. I take the side seam up at the hem ( or in the case of pants at thhe waist as well and taper out to centre front and back. Its very difficult to get it to look right -different shoes seem to alter the hang although theoretically it shouldn’t. I do have a slight build on that shoe (polio in childhood) so any unbuilt shoe causes real problems. Some garments I just cant seem to get to look right however much I fiddle with it. I tend to end up with two sets of clothes because I’m over particular about it looking right and not hanging down on one side. Thanks, Busy bee (winifred)

Hi. The fact that different shoes affects the fit would mean to me that garments aren't hanging from your hips and waist properly. Have you read the discussion about high hips? Fitting a pair of pants you are making for yourself with the elastic around the waist method should teach you a lot about where you need to be removing or adding fabric at the top edge. Once you get everything hanging straight you can mark the hems individually where you want them.
