easy lining for a dress

denise | Posted in General Sewing Info on

there is an article on threads about easy lining a dress, i read and re read and cannot quite work it out.

where the article says pull the lining? through the shoulder, it also makes use of the facing.

I would love an easy ways similar to bag lining a jacket  any one got any ideas.

I'm guessing it was a sleeveless dress.  The back and side seams are left undone.  You sew the lining and dress right sides together at the neckline and the armholes, clip and trim really well and pull it right side out (through the shoulders).  Now you can sew the underarm and center back seams.  It does work!

yes its a sleevles dress, thank you , the pulling out through the shoulder is the bit i am not understanding, i suppose one has to do it to realise. i thought of making a small sample and seeing how i went.

      thankyou again.
