draping classes

andsewon | Posted in General Sewing Info on

Hi, I want to start designing my own wedding apparel and am having hard time finding instuctional books/dvds on draping with dress forms. Does anyone out there know where I can find this info. I have some experience in this field, but would like to get into more professional details. Thanks, Pam

Check out your local community or 4 year college for fashion classes.  See if  you can audit the individual classes to keep the cost down.  I've taken a flat patternmaking class that way.  My local community college also has a draping class but I haven't been able to fit that class in yet.  Have you googled pattern draping or pattern draping method or other combinations?

    Draping info

I found this site several yrs ago. Not sure if it will help, but it can't hurt. Charles Kleibacker was a master of draping. Try this link, if it doesn't work go to Kent State University's website and do a search for Kleibacker.  It is listed there and you'll need to have Java installed.  Hope this helps.
