A friend is planning to start up her business and needs resources for establishing a professional pricing structure and contracts between her and the customer. Is there an acceptable or “usual” range for dresses, pants, etc.. I’ve seen her work and it is wonderful. She will be doing the full gamut of women’s wear and men’s pants—things she has already done for friends and family. She is in northern New Jersey. Thanks. Z

I think she ought to contact 5 or 6 local repair shops or seamstresses to see what they charge. If they're already in business, they know what the market will bear. Good luck to her.
thanks. She's fairly new in the area so I don't know that's she's established any colleague relationships yet but I will pass on the suggestions.
There are several pricing programs out there for the professional depending on the type of sewing business.

I haven't seen the alteration program yet but I know the woman who put it together and on her reputation alone I would purchase this program to be used with quickbooks.
