Help Needed To Organize My Stash

AnnCamm1 | Posted in General Discussion on

Does anybody know of a computer programme to help sewers organize their fabric and thread stashes? There are a couple for knitters but not for us! Failing this, what do you all do to organize your stuff?

    Hi,
There is a website called Soft Expressions which sells software for sewers. It is titled "Organized Expressions A Notebook and Diary Software for People Who Sew". It costs $20.20. I purchased it several years ago and started using it with my Windows program. When my husband purchased a new computer for me he selected an Apple with Windows features. I have not been able to get the software to work on it. The program itself helps one organize fabrics, threads, notions and tools. Patterns, books and magazines can also be categorized. The program also holds a personal diary to record projects and one's progress.
I thought that the software was reasonably priced but am disappointed that it doesn't get along with my computer.
I have listed the exact title of the program for you as this site is difficult to navigate. It took me several minutes to find the program again. The software is nonrefundable. I probably will email the creator, Laura Stradling and see if she has suggestions for me.
Good luck. Most of us need help with organizing sewing treasures.

You are welcome. It seems to be an easy to use program at least it was on my former computer.

Have a look at this site for a great way of orgainizing your stash if you don't mind printed forms. At the moment the site is being upgraded but is really worth a look when it is back online.

    P.S - it's free!
