I recently read a post about someone making a canopy bed and struggling with the long lengths. In my sewing room this morning I had to work with a two-plus yard piece of striped jersey in cutting out pants. I documented the entire process with my cell phone camera, from pressing wrinkles out to straightening to blocking to cutting then matching stripes for the other leg. The pattern I used I copied from a RTW stretch knit pair of pants where each leg is cut as an individual unit and you have only an inseam and crotch seam. I wanted it this way so that I wouldn’t have chevrons on the outer seam allowance. (The pants fit came out fabulous.)
Is anybody interested in seeing this photo “documentary” of the process I used? If not, I’m not going to post it, since it’s quite a few photos.

Hello Miss Donna,
I would love to see it, if its not too much trouble, I'm in the middle of working with serious yardage for a king sized duvet cover....
Thanx!
Nancy
When I was fabricating draperies and home interiors, I made a king size duvet cover with a thick brocade/tapestry-like fabric. It included buttons covered in the fabric. Boy, was that a challenge. I'd be happy to upload it, and I will, but what you're doing is somewhat different than what I did.
Let me ask, what size is your cutting unit?
Don't tell but I still use inches, even though I live in Metric land (LOL). Luckily, for me, people of a certain age still use the imperial system so they know what I am saying when I slip and speak in inches and yards.
That's good for me. Inches is my language....d.
