   There was a previous discussion about this problem. If you do a search of previous posts for "stain" see #4820.13 for one of them in a thread. There were suggestions for removal as well as how to prevent it from happening again.

   You might also gain some ideas from this link for removing stains from plastic laminate.

   I have the same problem but it happened with red fabric, twice. The first time it eventually faded almost to the right Husq machine colour but after sewing a red polar fleece/nylon taffeta coat I think it is permanently red.  I'm thinking it is the machine as this never happened to me with any of my other sewing machines.

   I agree...I've never seen this happen with other machines...Too bad because I really like everything else about it...I did end up getting most the stain out with "Goof Off", but I don't want to make a habit out of it...

   Sometimes dye comes off with a little bit of rubbing alchohol on a cotton pad.  I don't know if it would be a good idea to do this often but it does work!

   I wonder if an automobile polish might help remove the stain and prevent future transfer of the color onto the machine?

   I would never use an auto polish on a sewing machine--the list of toxic ingredients is bad enough, but they must also have a lot of oils in them that would stain your fabrics.  The rubbing alcohol does wonders, doesn't leave any residue, and also removes permanent marker marks from most plastics.
