I am not sure if this appropriate for this web-site but last week I was in Walgreens Drug Store and on the way out I saw a cute pink fabric pig. It had Velcro on the bottom and a plastic water bottle inside. The hang tag said it was a bottle holder. I saw no way to use it for carrying water. My friend said it was a dog toy. But for five dollars, not that cute.
Yesterday, I pulled out a bag of socks with no mates that I have been saving for sock dolls. I put an empty water in a sock and tied knot in the sock. The dog loves it. The noise of that bottle is almost as fun as a squeaky toy. I made several more in a few minutes. I have debated drawing faces on the toe.

That is what I love about sewers - so inventive. If it wouldn't drive you crazy, put some items in the bottle to roll around and make even more noise for the pup.
That's a great idea. I have also made dog toys for my pooch, including a sort of bear-shaped item made from an old towel serged around the edges, a snake made from an old sock, and his favorite, "Robbie's Pillow," which looks like our bed pillows he likes to steal but is made of sturdier fabric, and it squeaks! I fill the toys with polyfill and insert squeakers in pockets in the corners or wherever they fit. You can buy squeakers from SitStay.com -- much more economical if the toy is just going to be ripped up anyway!
