I have thoroughly enjoyed my new Vogue, seeing fall clothes is refreshing. My daughter gave me the August Elle and that is fantastic too. My favorite designer this season is Prada, love those fabrics and colors, brocades and touches of glitter with hints of another time. And love those curved heels even though they are rather extreme. I went to Saks yesterday wondering if they had some Prada but only found the shoes and they are pretty cool. I then explored the amazing wools in the other fall things. How can fabric feel that good?
Anyone else have a favorite fall designer to rave about?

I could happily wear anything made by Oscar de la Renta. I think his collections show a feminine consistency, and pieces which can be worn for many years.
I do have to say that the Giorgio Armani fall collection just blew me away! There are some gorgeous pieces this go-round. I like the longer, shaped jacket he is showing in those Armani colors of grey and black and subtle neutrals. It is such a contrast to the short and fitted crop of jackets everyone else is showing, and I think Mr. A's jackets will be much more flattering to my particular shape.
There are others I always check for the details: Rucci, Valentino, and Herrerra. There are a good many inspirational pieces for those of us who sew.

You must be my twin.....in taste anyway! I love, love, love Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera. I check their collections out as soon as possible. And Ralph Rucci is simply amazing! Valentino, Prada and Armani also. As you say, there is lots of inspirational scope in these designers for those of us who sew. If you don't want to copy a piece, you can utilize a detail on another style of garment.
Yeah! Oscar De La Renta! I have a blue with silver evening dress made from one of his patterns from years ago. It's still fashionable (I think) and fits even when I change sizes. Putting it on is like putting on my bathrobe. Love that dress even though our social life seldom includes dancing these days. rjf

There is a Lanvin suit that is very chic. Gray with some kind of sparkly tirm. Any thought on what it is? In this months Marie Claire and on line at http://www.style.com show 1073trend29 . Also loved the Chanel suits, I am currently looking for a print to use for facings with a gray wool boucle.

There are so many gorgeous clothes! Thanks to you and everyone I am expanding my drooling to include those designers the magazines don't generally cover as extensively. I am even going to go find a computer with a faster connection so I can get my fix faster! Only have dial up at home.
