It’s been too long, you busy gal, you!  Come on now, how about some pictures of your latest goodies?  Mary

I miss her, too, Mary.  I think she won't get the message, though, if it's not addressed to her, as I don't get them when they are addressed to 'All' - unless she's at work perusing the threads every day.  Hope all is well with her.

I miss her too.  But I have a feeling she is busy, but lurking to keep tabs on us all the same.  I am sure she will be back soon enough.  Cathy

Hey Girl! Letting you know we miss ya! Cathy

    2. MaryinColorado | | #4

When I clicked on the arrown next to To:, it didn't give her name as a choice there or under "others" this time.  Just a fluke probably, but it happens from time to time.  I was hoping she'd run across it and smile.  Mary

Hellow everyone, thanks so much for your concern and love.  I miss you all too.  I'm fine, I just can't concentrate on any projects of late.  I promised to post pictures of the last projects I made, it's been three weeks since I made anything until last night, I hurried through a pirate costume top for my 10 yr old granddaughter.  I hope I remember to take pictures this afternoon when I take it to her.  Her aunt is having a halloween party for the kids at her house.  She has everything else for the costume.

So, I was out early yesterday.....but back today.  I do have lots of work to get done this morning.  Hopefully I will be able to concentrate on something next week, like posting some pics.  giggle.

You guys have certainly been busy.  I still have to make time to see the bags that were posted and other stuff.  I've been lurking a little and making small comments.  But I pray to be back in the mix soon.  Love you all and my heart is warmed by your comments.  Thank you.

She did, Mary!  You did well.

Thanks, Katina - guess I should have been keeping up with the knitting needle thread.

There's so many interesting threads - it's hard to keep up!

It takes me a couple of hours a day!  :)

I know! It's a sort of compulsion, I suppose, but it's really so interesting. I can't believe how much I've learnt. The Gatherers are all very generous with their knowledge and expertise, and there's a genuine warmth here. Amber's deft touch is missed though.

These threads do become a compulsion!  It bothers me if I miss a day & can't wait to see what's happened in the meantime :)

Yes, though I do mange to miss stuff.

I do, too, if I don't read every thread.

Anyway, why are you up so late? Hope it's because you have exciting stuff going on, and not because you can't sleep. One can get a lot of sewing done in the wee hours.

            Katina

          6. Gloriasews | | #13

I was just going to ask you why you were up so late!!!  I have nothing exciting going on & never have a problem with insomnia - just didn't realize it's this late.  I'd better shut this down & hit the sack, eh?  You, too!  Morning comes soon enough (but it's so nice & quiet at this time of night, eh)?

No, it's midmorning for me - Central European time.

Wow - you're on the other side of the world!  I thought you were probably in the US, when you noticed that I was up late last night.  Have a great day!

Hey Gloriasews, I'm back with my own personal laptop computer at home now.  I'm a big girl now.  I used my table that I usually sew on, so now I'm typing instead of sewing.  I knew that would happen when I got a computer, especially with this forum.  I've become hooked on you guys giggle......giggle.....giggle.!

I'm so glad you're back, Rodezzy!  It's  been a couple of weeks & not a peep out of you.  Now you can waste (?) as much time as the rest of us do reading all the posts & jumping into the conversations, instead of sewing (even though we have projects for Christmas that we should be doing).  Congrats on the new laptop, too!  Now you can join us in the evenings & weekends to your heart's content & just think about us while you're at work, instead of trying to squeeze us in amongst your other tasks.  How are things with you now?

Hey there Gloriasews, its so good to hear your voice.  Yes, I've been on here for an house already.  I planned to start my newsletter after I talked to you guys.  You are life lines to the world, and I'm glad to be a part of it.  It still feels a little strange to have a computer at home, I don't know why, buy it does.  Oh, and for you and MaryinColorado, my computer has a Ruby Red plushey lid.  It's very sophisticated and upscale...giggle!  I'm just too much for my self.  I have a dell 948 printer.  It's pretty cool.  I'll have to get a phone connection to get the fax up and running also.

So much to do, so little time.  Love ya!

          12. Gloriasews | | #21

Wow - your computer has all the bells & whistles!  Yah, you'll soon get used to having it in the house (it takes a couple of weeks, because you forget it's there - then you become addicted).  How wonderful for you - it sounds like you had a wonderful shopping spree in the past couple of weeks (doing your job of stimulating the economy, as one poster so aptly posted, eh)?  That was a wonderful gift for your granddaughter.  How does the older one feel about it?

            Gloria

I'm taking her shopping for new bedding this coming weekend!  She was jealous, but so sweet about it. smile

          16. Gloriasews | | #25

Yah, I thought she might be jealous.  At least she was gracious about it, eh?  What a nice Grandma you are!  As to your other post, you sure don't have writer's block on this site!  :)

Well it's easy to talk to people of like minds that are talking back at you, but to just start out a newsletter with no real news from the committees is a bit hard to do.  I'm waiting for the Quilt Show Chairman to send me the report concerning the past quilt show that she asked to put in.  Other than that, there is little quild news to report.  That's what they call "a horse of another color" te he!

Rodezzy, A couple of years ago I was in the same predicament.  I was the author of a newsletter for a womens' group and no one would give me information within the deadline.....  So i issued the newsletter with fun and slightly "scandulous" tidbits about all the members.  At the end of the newsletter I fessed up and told them that if they weren't going to give me information I'd make it up.  At the next meeting we had a ball trying to guess who I was talking about.  None of it was malicious mind you, fun and light hearted and no one was left unscathed!  They still laugh at that issue (in one vignette I told the story of one member seen coming out of a local hotel in the middle of the day with a handsome man, not her husband, with lots of hints.... alas even my friend didn't guess it was her brother!).  They had met in town to plan one of the kids' graduation parties, but I made it sound so juicy she didn't remember being there with him!

My, my..you do have a very active imgination.  You should write books.  Lovely lady with a world of ideas.  Thanks for the idea, I can see those ladies now, looking at me as if I had lost my mind...giggle.

          20. Gloriasews | | #28

I know what you mean.  It is so hard & frustrating to keep bugging people for their submissions for newsletters on time, so you have something to work with.  On the other hand, to teach them a lesson, you might have to do what CHL did - that would definitely catch their attention, eh?  Jaha!  Good luck with the newsletter (or the making up of gossip).

Another little mischief maker huh?  This city is so big, and I never see these ladies much.  But we do have a sew-a-thon this coming saturday and I'll put on my thinking hat and see if I can't do some mischief after taking pictures of them Saturday.  You gals are wonderful companions, full of spice and fun.  Thanks for the mischief....As with Harry Porter "Mischief Managed".....

          22. Gloriasews | | #31

Go for it, Rodezzy!  Let us know how it's going, too!  The pictures will fill the newsletter quite well, especially if you add interesting comments with them - use your imagination & go by the expressions on their faces.

Yea, I'm going to the sew-a-thon on Saturday and take pictures.

It should be fun & you should be able to get some good candid photos.
