Swayback adjustment & darts

Jean_Vallee | Posted in Fitting on

I have a hip length bodice with back vertical darts. There is no waist seam.
After I make the adjustment for my swayback, the dart are no longer straight up and down.

(To make the adjustment, I slashed the pattern at the waistline and pivoted the lower section upwards to take up the excess.)

Should I restore the altered section of the darts to their original placement or leave them where they ended up?

It should be easy to re-draw them so that they look better and fall right. Keep them vertical, starting at the bust end, with the widest area at the waist. You may want to baste first to check the fit.
