I had double mastectomies and cannot wear prostheses. Reconstruction is a couple years off, if at all, so I’d like to start making clothing that I can be happy with, at least, until then. Please point me in the right direction on a book or books that will help me to deal with all kinds of bust darts and princess lines and removing the fullness. I have found a little bit on the subject but all the sources assume I need more fullness or that I need to move it up or down and don’t deal with just completely removing it. I’m actually a bit concave but, believe me, I’d much rather look completely flat than have those empty poofs in front! Thanks so much. Texas

Check out the instructions in Chapter 17 of "Fit for Real People" by Pati Palmer and Marta Alto. It will walk you through the steps for reducing the bust size. Essentially you are reversing the steps of enlarging a bust. Instead of slashing and spreading, you will be slashing and overlapping.
Mary Ann Duff, CSI
I'm at a loss for application on princess fit lines...which seem to be quite popular now. I hope this is included. I certainly need to brush up on the basics of design and alteration techniques. Texas
Chapter 17 in the Fit for Real People book goes into detail on princess seams. Starts on page 149. (have it memorized since I use it so much.)
