Open Back Dress

JMH3309 | Posted in Fitting on

I am fitting a dress that I made and it has staps that are cut in deep so most of the shoulder blad is exposed.  The back is gaping how do i fix my patters to make it lay flat.  I tried taking out what needed to be removed horizontally straight acorss but then that made the straps to short and it caused pulling at the waist seam…. Someone please help!

    shoulder height

you might need to adjust it at the shoulder.  if it has a waist seam, you can try nipping a bit from both ends and get rid of the excess.  if you take too much off the side seams, you might end up pulling everything out of shape or result in the fabric looking like its off grain.
