Making existing pants fit after losing weight
I am lucky enough to have lost a fair amount of weight and several inches off everywhere. Now my clothes just slip down and sit on the widest point which means the crotch hangs too low.
How do I take them in at the seam to make them sit correctly? On particular pair the waist band is quite wide and then the pants seem to be even wider around my bottom which is now quite flat. I have relatively little hips too which just seems to add to the dilema.
Love to hear from others who have successfully remade or altered their clothing please.

Congratulations. You should probably start by removing the waistband. Then I would put the pants on inside out and see if you can pin out the fullness along the seams. When I did this to one pair of pants, I took it completely apart through the crotch seam and cut a whole new crotch curve and inseam. On another, I was able to take in the side seams. And then, maybe you are able to reward yourself with some new pants that fit right from the start.

First, if you have lost fifty pounds or more, I wouldn't bother. Also, if you have one hip higher that the other, I wouldn't try them on wrong side out as this would mean you would be reversing the legs. It sounds like you may need to do three alterations...pinning out the fulness in the side seams, the center back waist and and center back crotch, and also pinching (vertically) the center back seam to eliminate extra fabric in the stride. Say you pinch out 1 inch. Open the inseam and slide the back leg foreward by this amount, tapering to the knee. As for the waist band, I wouldn't remove it entirely, (too much work) but simply create a center back seam in the band, taking in the excess fabric.
