I am in the middle of making some pants. The back fits fine. It has elastic in the back and a center back zipper which appear okay. I put the zipper in by hand. The pants also have side pockets. The pants are too big in the stomach and the inseam is too long. I increased my four front darts in the front up but it didn’t solve my problem. I am thinking about increasing the center front seam from 5/8 say to 1 1/4. If I do this will it decrease the amount of fabric in the stomach and at the same time raise the inseam where it does not hang down so far? This is my first pair of pants and I used a McCall’s women’s petite pattern but am still having problems. Any suggestions? I love sewing but find fitting and tearins seams out so frustrating. It seems as if nothing ever fits me right.
