Have not visited for a while but I have been sewing! Also I have been trying to read your discussions when I have time. I really need some help with a garment that I evidently made slightly too big. It is a blouse that wraps and ties to the side (Vogue 7876). This pattern is very easy but because I have not mastered my fit, it is slightly too big in the shoulder, bust and possibly underarm area. I should have made it a size 10 but used a size 12. Long story as to why but I seem to be having trouble deciding which size I should use.
Anyway, I have taken in the facings and shoulder seams about 1/2 inch and in an attempt to keep from removing the sleeves (they are trimmed and finished) I merged the seam back into the original seam. After trying on the blouse, that did the trick in the shoulder and bust area but I’m thinking I should now remove the sleeves and do something but I don’t know what.
Any suggestions? Note: The fabric is a microsuede so I am being very careful not to put any unnecessary needle holes in it.

Have you considered adding shoulder pads? Not the big 1980s ones, but subtle shoulder pads can make a slightly oversized dress look fantastic; the slight padding adds structure from which the bigger dress can drape very effectively, and can solve a lot of problems with slightly-too-big sleeves as well.
Yes I have considered using maybe 1/4 inch. The blouse is supposed to be close fitting and I think that since I altered it the way I did, that putting shoulder pads in would help make the top of the sleeves look smooth.
