Ijust went to a seminar with La Fred(wonderful-go if you get the chance) and got two of her jacket patterns. They have flat fronts and I am not(DDD!) so I thought I’d add a princess seam. I know I read didrections on how to do this somewhere but can”t find it now. I am an experienced seamtress with my own shop so I “m sue I can tackle this. Thanks

Fitting for any body by Palmer and Pletsch has instructions, but they doit from a pattern with darts.

I don't have the exact answer but I'll add my thoughts here. The first question that comes to mind is how might the ease be built into the pattern since there are no darts. You would be adding a princess seam in addition to darts that are converted to ease. Then identifying where your bust point hits the pattern would create a reference point for a princess line.
It seems that you would be right. The darts have to be converted to ease, and it would seem that the armskye would be too big if you just added princess seams. It would be easier to add a verticle bust dart, not as good as a princess seam, but it would help.
