Do you mean wholesale? by the bolt??? or do you mean discounted? In general i have found NYC pretty poor pickings for discounted cottons unless you are willing to purchase cottons that are several seasons old. The places in the fabric district tend to charge full price for the quilting cottons we all know from Joanne's and the other chain stores. what they do have discounted are wools, silks and other novelty fabrics that are very expensive or unavailable in the chain stores. The garment district stores often carry over-run fabrics from a the RTW houses. So you might see a wool labled ,"Ann Klein 100% wool coating". But you won't find good selections of Hoffman prints.

Given that, there is a store just across the street from FIT, at 7th ave at 25th street or so , run by an ancient couple that may have what you want at a discount. They are very sweet and terribly disorganized. While you are there, go a couple of blocks south to City Quilter to see new undiscounted quilting cottons. nice folks there & a pretty selection & then continue to 23rd street to LP Thur where there is a total hodge-podge of fabric. Some of it is just cheap and awful, some is fancy and cheap and some is expensive. it is always worth a look. the people who run the store are also good people.

*Hi Sarah!I mean wholesale, by the bolt or 10-15 yards minimun. I will go to FIT's Library this Saturday, so I will have time to check the stores you mentioned. Thanks so much for the info.Monica
