stretch pattern to non stretch fabric

I am self taught and new to this forum so I'm not sure of the best sub fourm  to ask this question. I am attempting to replicate a swim suit cover- up that ties at the waist. The orginal was (short sarong style) RTW/stretch material (non sure of the % lyrca). The orginal has no seams/one piece of fabric. I found sheer polyester fabric (not stretch) with a non-directional print. It is 58 inches wide and 3 yards. Should I lay the (original) pattern on a bias? Should I add inches to my pattern to compensate (for the non stretch of my new fabric)? Is there some kind of formula to use when you switch from stretch to non stretch fabric? Thanks in advance.
