camouflage silky

mygaley | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Please tell me if you know where I can buy silk, silky polyester, charmeuse, etc., camouflage print fabric suitable for girls pajamas. If I can produce these garments for Christmas, I will be the coolest Galey… Thanks Galey (my grandma name)

Though not silk, there's a variety of camo fabric types, including t-shirt weight jersey, sweatshirt, flannel and fleece.

Thank you for helping. Current project requires silky, silk or satin fabric, so must keep looking. Galey

There is a website called http://www.stretchhouse.com that seems to have a camouflage print under the heading 'printed spandex'.  They have tons of prints - if you can't find what you need on their website you may be able to e-mail them and ask if they have something more appropriate for your project.  I've never ordered from them so I have no personal experience with their products or services but they appear to have more slinky material than most fabric websites.

        Good luck!

Edited to add: Sorry - just realized you seem to be looking for silky slinky material and not just slinky.  This may not help you since most of their materials appear to be knits and not wovens.

Thank you for your help. I also sew mardi gras costumes so I know this site will be useful to me. Galey

Haven't you always wanted to learn to paint/dye silk?  Here's your motivation.  Just kidding, but it is an option if all else fails.

Thank you for that inspiration. Please please can I wait until after Christmas to learn a new skill?? :) Galey

Okay, you can wait.  Hey, I had another thought...since dye comes OUT of silk pretty easily,  don't you think you could remove dye in a splotchy camouflage look pretty easily?

Seriously, I had another thought.  (I'm getting punchy and should go to bed,) you probably already know this, but just in case you don't...silk underwear is worn for warmth by skiers, so I would imagine some hunters do to.  You might be able to find silk camouflage long underwear from a high-end sporting goods company.
