Beautiful trims

Sewandance | Posted in Fabric and Trim on

Hi I’m new to this board and I had a quick question. I recently read the new issue of Threads (December 2009/ January 2010) and I loved the article, All the Trimmings. Although this article was complete with how to care for your trims and what they are, there was no information, that I saw, that tells where you can buy these trims. Unfortunately there aren’t many places where i could readily purchase the beautiful trim featured in the magazine. My question is, is there any where online that I could find all of these beautiful l trims? Thank you.

Sewandance, if you do a search using "sewing trims" you will come up with a number of places to buy trims.  One is Denver Fabrics.  I have ordered from them in the past and will continue to do business with them.  Most online fabric suppliers also sell trim.

I like M&J Trimming in NYC.  I used to spend hours there when our company's headquarters was right down the street.  www.mjtrim.com

A grand welcome to your jumping in the pool.  Many very experienced sewists are at the ready to help with a ?, or in your case an ISO.

You've been offered reliable on-line sources.  Being uncertain of your location, NYC is a destination when it comes to sewing whatevers.

You might consider being in touch with Threads and ask for their input.  Offering the article w/o reference to the actual trims availability seems a bit shortsighted.  Maybe the editor was on vacation.  Or, publication costs influenced the omission.

Keep in mind that trims change as styles change.  Perhaps those shown were for example only and are now out-of-stock anywhere.  The all could likely have been in the stash of the author, or other known sewing folks.

If possible would you consider posting the results you find?
