Hello, all! I’m going to be in Australia (I live near Chicago) in August-September and I would like to know about some fabric stores that I could visit while there. I’m really interested in fabrics with aboriginal designs and we will be in Melbourne, Alice Springs, Cairns and Sydney. Any suggestions from Aussies (or others!) would be greatly appreciated….Thank you in advance…..Jane

I am not going to be much help but you will get Aboriginal motif fabrics in Alice Springs without any trouble. We were there a few years ago and I now cannot remember the name(s) of individual stores but Alice Springs is not large and it will not be difficult to find. Your hotel will be able to direct you. Yes Alice springs is the best spot also try googleing for mail order places . I live in Melbourne and have never seen it on roles in the shops .
